FAQS

Mr. Eats-It Hydrocarbon:

Q: Do I need to dilute Mr. Eats-It Hydrocarbon?

A: While Mr. Eats-It Hydrocarbon is not a concentrate, it is recommended to allow a slight dilution of the product to activate the microbial process. Similar to Mr. Eats-It Food Grade, agitation and water provides the oxygen needed to activate the microbes.

Q: Is it necessary to use a hand pump garden sprayer?

A: No, it is not necessary, but it is highly recommended, allowing an even amount of Mr. Eats-It Hydrocarbon distribution on the area being cleaned. Actually, we recommend using two sprayers – one for the product and one for water.

Q: How long do I leave Mr. Eats-It Hydrocarbon on the floor?

A: Average jobs take 20-30 minutes for the microbes to do their work. How dirty is the surface you are cleaning? Oil and grease that have been built up for a long period of time require additional time and perhaps a second application for best results. Keep the area wet to allow the microbes to work.

Q: Do I need eye protection?

A: Yes. Safety glasses are also recommended because different people react differently to the microbial solution. We recommend safety gloves, clothing and goggles. Please refer to the Safety Data Sheets.

Mr. Eats-It Food Grade:

Q: Do I need to dilute Mr. Eats-It Food Grade?

A: Yes. Mr. Eats-It Food Grade is a concentrate. Normal dilution rate is 2 to 1 to start but you must apply and observe to judge the results. Mr. Eats-It Food Grade can be diluted even more for a minimal amount of grime (fat, oil, grease).

Q: Do I really need to scrub the floor?

A: No. You only need to agitate the microbes on top of the surface being cleaned. Many times, depending on the level and the age of the grime on the surface to be cleaned, a second application is needed to let the microbes fully digest the fats, oils and grease.

Mr. Genesis:

Q: How much Mr. Genesis do I need to use?

A: A single cup of Mr. Genesis will absorb 3.5 to 6 gallons of water depending on the level of contamination. One pound of Mr. Genesis will absorb 15 to 25 gallons of contaminated liquid depending on the level of contamination.

Q: What is the best way to dispose of Mr. Genesis?

A: Mr. Genesis does not require special disposal methods. It can be swept or vacuumed up (wet vac) and disposed of with the regular trash.

Q: I have noticed on your website people wearing hazmat suits. Do I need to wear a hazmat suit?

A: No. We recommend wearing goggles, protective clothing and gloves. The use of hazmat suits would be determined by the type and/or level of contaminant. Please refer to the Safety Data Sheets.

Q: Will handling Mr. Genesis harm my skin?

A: Mr. Genesis is a super absorbent polymer, and will quickly absorb any water-based liquid. No matter the situation, we recommend safety first in handling Mr. Genesis crystals and disposing of the absorbed liquid. While Mr. Genesis is normally not toxic to skin in any way, you need to be careful to not ingest any of the crystals so wearing safety goggles and clothing is highly recommended. Please refer to the Safety Data Sheets.
